Our connection starts here.
The land is the real teacher. All we need as students is mindfulness. - Dr. Robin Wall Kimmerer

ABOUT ME

PXL_20220830_195340780

I’m Matthew Ballew (he/they) and I’m deeply passionate about human rights, environmental issues, and mental health. I’m an Assistant Professor at Pierce College and I specialize in social and environmental psychology, psychological wellness, and research methodology. I’m a Michigander born and raised in the suburbs outside Detroit. In my spare time, I’m either outdoors, hanging out with my partner and his son, or working on my personal projects. I also love to document the beauty of the world (check out my photographs) and geek out with board games (check out Climate Games). The more we can use art to raise awareness and educate the public about social and environmental issues, the more we can make solving them part of the status quo.
